چکیده

Coronary stent implantation has significantly improved percutaneous coronary intervention and enabled the management of early complications of plain balloon angioplasty (POBA). By preventing elastic recoil and constrictive remodeling, coronary stent implantation decreases the frequency of restenosis after percutaneous coronary intervention. However, a new complication has accompanied these improvements: in-stent restenosis (ISR) arising from neointimal hyperplasia. The clinical incidence of ISR after bare-metal stent (BMS) implantation is ≈20% to 35%. The use of drug-eluting stents (DESs) has led to a further decrease in the occurrence of ISR to 5% to 10%.

Efficacy of a seal-wing paclitaxel-eluting balloon catheters in the treatment of bare metal stent restenosis

BACKGROUND Our study aimed to compare the efficacy of seal-wing paclitaxel-eluting balloon catheters (PEB) with iopromide-coated PEB and everolimus-eluting stents (EES) for treating bare metal stent restenosis (BMS-ISR). METHODS We enrolled 64 patients with 69 BMS-ISR. The control group comprised patients from the iopromide-PEB and EES arms of a previous TIS study. The primary end-point was 1...

نتایج بالینی پس از آنژیوپلاستی عروق کرونر، بروز حوادث بزرگ قلبی-عروقی و عوارض انواع استنت

Background: Cardiovascular diseases alone have become the leading cause of death worldwide. One of the treatment methods cardiovascular disease is angioplasty. This study aimed to investigate the clinical results after coronary artery angioplasty, based on the incidence of major cardiovascular events with emphasis on stent types. Methods: In this retrospective cross-sectional study, the preval...

Everolimus-eluting coronary stents

Bare metal stents enabled a reduction in the risk of early procedural complications and restenosis in comparison with balloon angioplasty alone, but introduced a new and device-specific iatrogenic condition, ie, in-stent restenosis due to increased neointimal hyperplasia. Sirolimus- and paclitaxel-eluting stents reduce restenosis and the need for new revascularizations in comparison with bare m...

Optimal Stent Expansion by Stent Balloon Multiple Inflation at Nominal Pressure in Resistant Lesions: A New Technique

Introduction: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of four-time inflation of the stent balloon at nominal pressure on optimal stent expansion in resistant lesions. Materials and Methods: This interventional study was conducted on 39 patients with coronary artery lesions, in whom Zotarolimus-eluting stents (N=20), Paclitaxel-eluting stents (N=11) and other stents (N=8) were deployed four tim...

Efficacy of various percutaneous interventions for in-stent restenosis: comprehensive network meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.

BACKGROUND In-stent restenosis (ISR) remains a difficult problem in interventional cardiology. The relative efficacy and safety of available interventions is not clear. We aimed to perform a network meta-analysis using both direct evidence and indirect evidence to compare all available interventions. METHODS AND RESULTS We systematically searched electronic databases for randomized trials com...
